Welcome to AVG’s Policy blog! I’m Siobhan MacDermott, AVG’s Chief Policy Officer and I’ll be posting articles and commentary on global policy issues that are relevant and important for you to know about, hopefully in a way that makes it easier to understand. I’ve been working in the mobile and security industries for almost 25 years, and education has become a passion of mine. I hope you will be able to learn about these important policy issues, but also be able to share them with the people you care about and discuss them.

I’m a true global citizen, a parent and am incredibly passionate about policy decisions that could have an effect on what we may be able to do online, how our kids are treated and what data is collected about us.

Through this blog, I’m also hoping that you’ll also be able to bring articles and issues to the table that I can talk about from a more “expert” point of view too. We’ll discuss everything from policy affecting your privacy – to whether the United Nations should regulate the Internet.  If there’s something on your mind, please share it and we’ll discuss it.  You can also follow me @AVGLittleBird.

    You have made a policy mistake with sending out Atlas as a free trial of the Slimware driver tool, which I downloaded from http://users.telenet.be/jbranders/atlas.exe.

    I do not expect you to supply such defective software. My C: disk is fairly full so I gave a path to another disk, but this software doesn’t then work. It appears to only install to the C: drive which is stupid. The disk select page did not allow selection of another disk, and shouldn’t appear anyway having been given a path to another disk. Do you have any idea how low I consider your trustworthiness now? This install has clearly not been tested properly, and the installer simply hangs when things get slightly more complex than a “clean” computer with 1 disk. So I wasted my time, and you have wasted some of your reputation.
