We have just released an update to AVG Mobilation Anti Virus Free, which is our free-to-use security app for Android devices that combats viruses and malware and also provides loss and theft protection.

What is new in the latest update?

New Tune-Up feature:

• This feature allows the user to monitor their 3G data plan.
• Set data usage notifications.

Safe surfing notifications:

• Users receive a “Safe Surfing” notification when opening default browser.
•  This will be shown for 3 seconds on top of the browser screen and will be displayed if the safe web surf was selected under settings.

Scan APKs

• Provide the ability to scan APKs. (APK stands for the Android application package file and is the file format used to distribute and install application software and middleware onto Google’s Android operating system. Being able to scan APKs straight from the file system means you can scan APKS that are downloaded from locations outside of Google Play.
• When user installs an APK using the file system, our Anti-Virus app will advise the user to scan it before instalation.

Please note that version 2.12 will no longer support Android OS versions 1.5 & 1.6.
