At AVG we always try and do our share of charity work. Whether it is donating to disaster relief efforts, supporting wildlife charities, health charities or providing clothing for the needy, we think it’s important to give back and do what we can to help others and raise awareness for important issues. 2013 was no different.

Here’s what we’ve been up to this holiday season to help raise money for Charity.

AVG’s worldwide fundraiser

True to the Christmas spirit, AVG offices around the world have been busy raising money for local charities and have raised a fantastic $24,968!

The biggest amount raised for a single cause– $14,387– was given to the Red Cross and will contribute to humanitarian help to Philippines after the country was severely damaged by the typhoon Haiyan.

This total was donated jointly on behalf of the offices in the Czech Republic, Atlanta (US) and France.

Other great causes we raised funds for included

  • Food banks in the Netherlands, the US and Canada
  • The San Francisco Fire Department
  • Hope House School for Autistic Spectrum Disorders in the UK
  • A primary school in Cyprus
  • The National Stroke Foundation in Australia

AVG Israel is proud to announce that it made a donation of $3,000 in support of a local charity in Israel that helps children with cancer.

LARGER THAN LIFE was founded in 2000 by the parents of cancer stricken children. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of children with cancer and their families, regardless of religion, race or gender.

The organization’s vision is to escort the sick children and their families from diagnosis to recovery by creating cheerful experiences, along with contribute to the constant improvement of their medical treatment quality.

More information on the ‘Larger Than Life’ project can be found here.

AVG’s Movember Team:

Our Czech team of moustachioed fundraisers are based in Brno and have managed to raise $3,000 in their Movember campaign.

Movember is an annual facial hair extravaganza in order to raise awareness over men’s health issues.

A special mention goes to Tomas Veselik who raised over $200 for such a great cause.

We’re very proud of the charitable work that we do and we’d encourage everyone to do whatever they can, no matter how small, to help out this holiday season!
