Welcome to the first episode of the AVG Guru Sessions where each week we will post highlights from interviews with thought leaders for small businesses. There will be a new post each week and a new thought leader each month. These thought leaders will come from a variety of themes and issues within business and address some of the concerns of small businesses.
Hopefully, these bite-sized videos, which we will aim to publish every Friday will give you some useful insight into business and help you pick up some useful knowledge to help you navigate your SMB through these tough economic times.
The first interviewee is Julie Meyer, CEO of Ariadne Capital which invests in technology start ups and small businesses.
Julie is one of the BBC’s Online Dragons in the award-winning Dragon’s Den Online, and is also currently setting up a “Dads and Daughters” foundation to support and extend her thesis that women’s identities are shaped – for good or bad – by the messages they receive from their father’s as children and young adults. In 2011, she was asked to be on the UK Secretary of State’s Entrepreneurs Panel and the Secretary of Health’s Innovation Panel.
In episode one of this series, Julie covers the state of play for entrepreneurs and small business in the UK and worldwide.
