I am delighted to report that during June we expanded AVG CloudCare’s international footprint into Australia and New Zealand (AU/NZ).  As the cloud computing technology model starts to mature around the world, AVG intends to lead the way with great value services for its Channel partners and their small business customers.

Our AU/NZ managing director Peter Cameron has a strong track record of introducing new technology products and services into the Australian and New Zealand markets and driving their growth and success. Since first becoming involved with AVG back in 2004, Peter has overseen a period of tremendous business growth in the region and the recognition that goes with it having garnered both a  Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award in Australia and a Deloitte APAC Technology Fast 500 award. AVG’s AU/NZ operation, based in Melbourne, has a substantial local distribution network of over 4,000 technology resellers across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.  AVG has a further 10,000 reseller partners worldwide.

Even though AVG CloudCare™ has until now only been available in North American and the UK the number of AVG CloudCare partners quickly went past the 1,000 milestone, serving tens of thousands of small business end users. Now that the cloud computing, pay-as-you-use model is becoming more established, small businesses are seeking cloud services on a more global level and AVG CloudCare is helping our Channel partners are able to meet and monetize this demand.

In the nine months of AVG CloudCare road testing since launch, we have a built up an extremely stable product offering and a solid loyal user base. The time is now right to move into new markets. English language speaking countries such as Australia and New Zealand are natural choices for the next step.

I’m sure you will join me in Peter wishing and his team every success as they look to repeat the achievements of UK and North America by winning over widespread support from new and existing partners down under for the AVG CloudCare vision.
